CLASSROOM ATTENDANCE MANAGER: A SMARTSYSTEM FOR MANAGING ATTENDANCE WITH QR CODES, FACIAL RECOGNITION, AND REAL-TIMEANALYTICS
Abstract
Attendance management in educational institutions has long been a critical yet cumbersome administrative task. Traditional methods such as paper-based roll calls and manual record-keeping are not only time-consuming but also prone to errors and fraudulent practices like proxy attendance. This paper presents a comprehensive study of a Classroom Attendance Manager (CAM), an intelligent system that leverages QR code technology, facial recognition, and real-time analytics to revolutionize attendance tracking in academic settings.
The proposed system integrates multiple authentication modalities to create a robust, efficient, and scalable solution. Key components include:

Through extensive testing across multiple educational environments, we demonstrate that CAM reduces attendance processing time by 82%, eliminates proxy attendance incidents by 96%, and provides educators with unprecedented visibility into attendance patterns. The system maintains an accuracy rate of 98.7% while addressing critical privacy concerns through secure data handling protocols.
