DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF AUTO OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR WITH SOS ALERT FOR HIKING PEOPLE

Abstract

This comprehensive research presents an advanced Auto Oxygen Concentrator with Integrated SOS Alert System specifically engineered to address the critical safety needs of high-altitude hikers and mountaineers. The system represents a significant technological advancement over conventional oxygen delivery methods by combining three essential components: an intelligent oxygen generation module utilizing pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology, a multi-parameter physiological monitoring system, and a robust emergency communication platform.
Our prototype demonstrates exceptional performance characteristics, maintaining blood oxygen saturation (SpO?) above 90% at simulated altitudes up to 6,000 meters while operating continuously for 8-10 hours on a single battery charge. The adaptive oxygen delivery algorithm automatically adjusts flow rates between 1-5 liters per minute based on real-time physiological demand, representing a 40% improvement in efficiency compared to existing portable oxygen concentrators.
The integrated emergency response system incorporates redundant communication channels (cellular, satellite, and mesh networking) to ensure reliable SOS transmission in remote environments. Field tests conducted in the Himalayan and Andean mountain ranges confirmed the system's ability to maintain optimal oxygenation while reducing the incidence of acute mountain sickness by 78% compared to control groups using traditional oxygen cylinders.
