The reliable operation of electrical power systems is crucial for ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers. Transmission power lines, which form the backbone of electricity distribution, are often exposed to harsh environmental conditions that can lead to faults such as short circuits, line breakages, overloading. This project presents an intelligent fault detection system for transmission power lines using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system utilizes a network of sensors to monitor parameters such as current, voltage, and temperature in real time. When abnormalities are detected, the system instantly transmits data to a centralized server via a wireless communication module. This enables remote monitoring and timely maintenance actions, reducing downtime and preventing potential blackouts. The proposed system enhances grid reliability, improves response time, and minimizes maintenance costs through automated fault detection and notification.
