HYPER LOCAL SERVICE FINDER: A LOCATION-BASED APP TO DISCOVER NEARBY SERVICES LIKE ELECTRICIANS, PLUMBERS, AND HANDYMEN
Abstract
The rapid advancement of mobile technology has significantly transformed the way users discover and access local services, creating a more connected and efficient marketplace. This paper introduces the Hyper Local Service Finder, an innovative location-based mobile application designed to bridge the gap between users and nearby service providers, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, handymen, and other local professionals. By leveraging GPS technology, real-time data processing, and user-generated reviews, the application ensures accurate, reliable, and efficient service discovery tailored to the user’s immediate geographic needs.
A comprehensive literature survey examines existing service discovery platforms, identifying key challenges such as lack of real-time updates, unreliable provider information, and limited user feedback mechanisms. In response, the proposed system incorporates dynamic location tracking, instant service matching, and a robust review system to enhance trust and usability. The paper details the system architecture, including backend data processing, API integrations, and the mobile frontend design, followed by an evaluation of the implementation using real-world test cases.
Results demonstrate that the Hyper Local Service Finder significantly improves service accessibility, reduces search time, and increases user satisfaction compared to traditional methods. Additionally, the paper discusses potential future enhancements, such as AI-driven recommendations, multi-language support, and integration with IoT devices for automated service requests. The broader implications of such applications on local economies, small business growth, and community engagement are also explored, highlighting their role in fostering digital inclusion and economic empowerment.
